Muangtong Church was planted in Muangtongthani, a satellite city of Bangkok by Good News Ministries in 1995. It is a centre for prayer and evangelism to share the gospel with thousands of unreached people in north Bangkok. The church has a strong emphasis on youth, and a vision to serve as a centre for children’s and youth evangelism. Muangtong Church in association with World Outreach Thailand is preparing for the future by setting up a Multi-purpose Ministry Center in Bangkok. This would serve as a base for the following ministries:
This church will serve as a permanent base to facilitate the evangelistic and teaching ministries of Muangtong church, and its vision to plant new churches in other parts of Thailand. The center will have a multipurpose auditorium that can be used by the church on Sundays as well as Top Kids on Saturdays, and other evangelism and and training programs.
Thailand is one of World Outreach’s largest fields, with at least 10 unique life-giving ministries, 11 mission partners, 12 national workers and more than 40 national team members. We are now preparing to begin sending Thai missionaries cross-culturally. If World Outreach is to continue to expand its operations in Thailand, we need a national office.
The building will serve as a center for the Top Kids program and to administrate the Heart of Mercy fund. A resource centre for Children’s Ministry materials will be located at the center.
The center will be used to run training programs in children’s ministry, youth ministry, cross-cultural missions and church-planting.
Land has now been purchased on Prachachuen Road, Bangkok, and more than half of the funds for building have been donated. Four million bahts (US $100,000) is needed to complete the project.
We plan to begin building in October 2006, and complete the project by December 2007
