Thanks for your prayers last month …
For outreaches, etc, with the team of children from many parts of the world. Thai children really responded to them, in the schools & slum areas. One Nonthaburi school was very open, and the deputy principal encouraged all the children to study with us! She, and two other teachers, then brought nearly 100 children to the celebration/worship event on the Saturday.
Thanks to all who’ve been praying for John (who used to be on our Team and is now pastoring at Pathumthani Church). As some already know, he has leukemia. It took time to get diagnosed (and a local doctor gave the wrong medicine) so he was very sick last month. He’s looking much better now after two weeks on the right medication (with a good doctor). He and Nok say thanks for your prayers, and please keep praying for his complete healing. Thanks.
July 1 st – 7 th:
1st: Two special meetings for children today – may God’s Spirit work in each of their lives.
First in the morning at Top Kids, for children from slum areas in Muangtong area. Pray for Prasert, who leads this group, and a team from NZ who’ll help today, led by Dave DeRoles.
Second, in the afternoon, at the FahSai Club for Nonthaburi children. Pray for Kanchana, Doi and NoiNon who lead this – again with help from Dave’s team.
Two days of School outreaches this week:
On the 4 th - at two schools in Muangtong area
On the 6 th - at schools in Tungsonghong – then an open air program at the market there
Team News : Several on the Team have been sick recently (flu and/or colds). All ask for prayer for good health for this month, with the two Camps we’re having with Dave’s team.
Doi also writes, “At extra busy times like this if we get too tired its easy to get discouraged, so please pray for God’s strength and joy for us all. And for God’s Spirit to refresh each one of us with a fresh anointing.”
Correspondence lessons needing reprinting: Pray for the art work needed for two lessons in the 3rd set, and for Assen who’s doing this, but has had a lot of sickness recently.
Preparation for two Camps this month: We’re expecting about 200 children to come to each of these Camps, so there’s a lot of camp preparation needed. Please pray for all on our Team, and those from Muangtong Church and Nonthaburi Church who’re also helping.
July 8 th – 15 th:
8 th – 11 th: English Camp, for children from Nonthaburi, Muangtong & Pathumthani:
At this Camp, we’ll have children from TopKids and the FahSai club, also children who’ve been studying with us by correspondence, and a group of about 50 children from the Nonthaburi school who came to the ‘Arise’ worship event last month. Quite a mixture. Please pray for them all.
13 th – 15 th: English Camp, for children from Chaiyaphum:
At this Camp, we’ll have over 200 children from one school, who plus a lot of other Chaiyaphum children who’ve been studying with us, some of whom have already accepted Christ. Again, a real mixture.
At both camps, we’ll have some English classes, and also teaching (through games, stories, etc) on what it means to know and follow Christ. Please pray for God to speak to each child.
For the Camp leaders, and especially for those who’ll be at both Camps – namely NoiNon, Kanchana, Boy, Noi and Sittipong.
All the leaders ask your prayers –
“For God’s strength and anointing throughout each camp”
“For God to move by His Spirit in us and in the children”
“That each child will know that God is real, and have an encounter with Him”
“For safety as we travel – for us and all the children. It’s a 2hour drive to the first Camp.
For us leaders, its then a 6hour drive up to Chaiyaphum – traveling on the 13 th”
July 16 th – 23 rd:
For the Correspondence program:
Recently many children have asked us to pray for their families to come to know God. Please join with us in praying for whole families to turn to the Lord through these children. Many children have also written about answers to prayer, and its encouraging to see them learning to know Him in this way. Pray for each child studying with us, that they’ll have this same hunger to know God, and learn to trust Him.
From Mechu: I used to feel overwhelmed with problems. But I thank God He doesn’t give up on me, and encourages me through His Word. I read it every day. I’ve been praying for my friends at school, that they will want to know Jesus. I really want to live so that they see Him, and tell them about Him too. But sometimes I’m scared to do that. Please can you pray for me.
From Naewarut: Since studying your lessons, I’m much happier, and stronger in myself too now that I know God. I know He helps me when I have problems, and helps my family too. Thanks for praying for me too.
From Tarika: I had a very bad headache and was in a lot of pain. I prayed to God to heal me, and after that I got better. I do thank God. He really did help me.
This year’s Cartoon Booklet:
Back to it! With all the other activities, its been harder to get a flow on it this year. However, we have several stories nearly finished – from Doi, Cheunjit and from Faith (an artistic young man who’s helped us before). Please pray for them, and the others who’re working on articles and stories – namely, NoiNon, Pum, Bu, and Kanchana. Pray especially too for Assen and Boy, who’re doing all the layout and artwork, which is a big job. Please continue to pray for God’s anointing, and inspired creativity on all who’re involved.
July 24 th – 31 st:
25 th–28 th : Bible College teaching:
Valerie and Kanchana will teach on the book of Hebrews again. Thanks for your prayers last month. The students were really keen, and we all learnt a lot. Please pray for us, and for the students, as we go through the second half of the book – which is always more of a challenge.
Correspondence program:
Please keep praying for all on our Team who’re in regular contact with these children. Ganya asks for prayer for many children who’re wanting to go on with God, but facing various kinds of problem. Some are the only Christian in their village. Others have opposition from families or friends. Please pray for them, as we do see God changing situations through your prayers.
From Brida: When I saw my friends with your lessons, I wanted to know about Jesus too, so they helped me enroll. Then my older brother got very angry when he saw me doing the 1st lesson and ordered me to stop. But my father had heard of your club when he was at school, and he’s happy for me to study. Please pray for my family. I want them to know Jesus too.
From Dechai: I’m still so amazed that I can know God because He is so great. Thanks for helping me. Before I was often unhappy. I couldn’t forgive anyone, or let things go. But after studying with you about God, He has helped me change and I’ve got real happiness now.
This year’s Cartoon Booklet:
A week when many of those working on the various articles and stories can concentrate on these. Please continue to pray for God’s leading and anointing on all that we produce for this booklet. Through it, may God speak to many hundreds of thousands of Thai children.
